ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Hello all! From Me, To You. was started by two juniors at the Downingtown STEM Academy in Downingtown, PA. As teenage girls, we are able to relate to struggle of menstruation. Even though we find it difficult to live with, we understand there are many others who are not as privileged as us to have access to menstrual products and general hygiene. We decided it was a priority of ours to do our best to combat the existing period poverty in our community and neighboring ones as well.

SABRINA YAO

"I have always been fortunate enough to be educated and well provided with menstrual education but I also know that it is a big privilege to possess and not everyone is able to have that same privilege. Seeing in my own life that periods impose many inconveniences, I could not imagine how people with limited access to feminine hygiene must live with the stress of their periods on top of the struggles of life. I hope to be able to elevate the quality of life for those around us who must deal with the the struggles of the menstruation cycle on top of physical and mental needs."

ISHI BHATTACHARYA

"I have always seen stigma around the discussion of menstrual equity and the reluctance to address the dire need of feminine products. Now equipped with resources provided by my community and the support from friends and family I hope to educate others on the importance of recognizing the period as a real and important topic. I don't want the period to be something that people should be ashamed of but more spoken about. That's the importance of From Me, To You. "
